HOLY WTF - me, 11:34 PM

  • Dec. 6th, 2005 at 11:52 PM
PSME - Mild night sky
December 6th, 7:59 AM (CST): Anywhere but here gets snarked

Not too long after that: I comment

My day goes on.....

8:23 PM: I make a snide comment on the Comic Genesis Forums. I'm thinking to myself both "I am pathetic for actually thinking this and disguising it in a joke." and "Watch, I will say this and in a few days, he will snark me."

Enter 11:02 PM: WHAT IN THE WORLD

I KNOW!! How about this:

It's awesome that Neil Gaiman is a great comics writer. But why couldn't it be me?

Now all I have to do is wait a few years. (I assume the magnitude of the feat will lengthen the incubation time...)

He rarely posts negative comments. At this point it's just a name. :) But still, it's something to be proud of.

I can sympathize with Eric. When I started my comic review column on rec.arts.comics back in 1992, I was into the Church of the SubGenius, and a "rant" was a sort of inspired communication that could be fully denied at a later date within the context of the Dobbsies. So I called my column "Dave's Rants", despite the fact that I'm generally positive. It's caused me grief on occasion, just as the other meanings of "snark" have been an issue for Eric. :)

By the way. When you say "what in the world" all in CAPS, all I can think of is "The Pricess Bride." ....

"I've made my decision. The poison is in...WHAT IN THE WORLD?!?"

That rocks!

Funny to see Tim Tyler on there. I see him at the Newshounds forum. Small world.
